A Vehicle Service Contract was designed to provide consumers with protection from the high cost of unexpected repair bills. Vehicle Service Contracts are more commonly known as an aftermarket auto warranty. Vehicle Service Contracts (VSC's) are designed to help consumers off set the high cost of your mechanical repair bills when your vehicle breaks down or won't start. Protect My Car includes 24/7 roadside assistance to every customer that purchases a protection plan, as well as a rental car reimbursement plan for all repairs that take more than 4 billable hours to complete allowing you to get back to work, or home to your kids.

Protect My Car offers a free "30 Day Look Period" which provides all of our customers a full 30 days to review the terms and conditions of their coverage plan. If there's anything you're not satisfied with, you can call and get a full refund for your initial down payment. Since Protect My Car offers this free 30 day look period, you will not be able to file a repair claim during this time.

  • The licensed repair shop files the claim not the customer. However, Protect My Car’s Customer Loyalty department can walk you through the process, so you understand how the claims process works.
  • Take your vehicle to a licensed repair facility. You can contact our Customer Service for assistance in locating a repair facility in your local area.
  • Present the licensed repair facility with the ID card, from your PMC contract book, which has PMC's Claims Department’s telephone number and your PMC contract number on it. Please instruct the licensed repair facility to call Protect My Car before proceeding with repairs. The repair shop must receive an authorization number from Protect My Car before they can begin to work on your vehicle.

Yes. Your vehicle service contract is both transferable and prorated refundable.

No. As long as everything is running fine on the day that you purchase your vehicle service contract, you will not need a vehicle inspection.

This would ultimately depend on how much time is remaining on your manufacturer's warranty, remember many car manufactures will offer a 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper coverage plan when you purchase new but then there is an additional 2 year 34,000 mile power train policy which doesn't cover many component such as the electrical system, the your braking system, A/C, and much more. If your vehicle has 1 - 2 years left of on your manufactures warranty policy now would be a great time to purchase a Protect My Car policy. Protect My Car will cover many of the non covered components that your power train policy is lacking protection for.

Yes. If you cancel during your free 30 day look period, your down payment will be refunded. After the review period, you can cancel at any time, or if you’re selling your vehicle, your policy is transferable to the new owner.

This is the most asked question. Protect My Car offers a 30-Day Free Look period.  After 30 days, your first monthly payment has been made and 1,000 miles has been driven from the date you purchased your policy, you will receive coverage. If you decide not to continue, you can request a full refund of your initial down payment. Protect My Car wants our customers to be satisfied with our coverage.

Your contract allows up to three (3) oil changes and up to two (2) tire rotations, per year.
To redeem your free OEM oil change and/or tire rotation, follow these steps:
1. Take your vehicle to a licensed repair facility that accepts payment via credit card over the phone or manual credit card entry. For your convenience Protect My Car has fleet partnerships with Jiffy Lube, Pep Boys, AAMCO, Valvoline and Take 5 who are available to service PMC customers.
2. Provide the licensed repair facility with your Contract ID number located on your membership card and direct them to Portal.ProtectMyCar.com to register, and follow the instructions.
3. If you or the licensed repair facility experiences any difficulty using the PMC self-service portal, please call our customer service advocates at 800-253-2850.
4. If for any reason you, a PMC customer, have already paid the shop for an oil change/ tire rotation, you can go to Portal.ProtectMyCar.com to register, and follow the instructions provided to get reimbursed immediately with a preloaded MasterCard. To do so, take a picture of your receipt/ invoice and upload it, enter the total amount, and click submit, you will receive an email with the preloaded Mastercard.

a. Email - As soon as you become a PMC policy member a policy booklet is sent to the email you have on file with us. Please check your email inbox and spam folder for an email originating from: customerservice@protectmycar.com
b. Mail - We also send original policy booklets to the address you provide on file. Please keep in mind it does take up to 15 days for your booklet to arrive via mail.
c. Online - You can immediately self-service your request for a digital copy of your policy booklet by going to portal.protectmycar.com. Follow the instructions provided to secure your copy.
